Wanted: Responsible Reporting On Religion

Religious journalism in the Philippines should be more responsible in their reportage. As much as possible, reporting about religion, like politics, must be independent from pressure and influence from any party.

During and just few minutes after Case Unclosed, a program hosted by Arnold Clavio, featured a documentary of the Ang Dating Daan group and the alleged rape charge against Bro. Eliseo Soriano, members and sympathizers of the congregation lead by the preacher are united in crying foul to the said report.

Religious bias and sensationalism in Philippine media

The tabloid media are widely used in the religious feud between the Eraño Manalo’s Iglesia ni Cristo (INC) and Bro. Eli Soriano of the Ang Dating Daan.  Recently, the broadsheets are seen the latest participants in this propaganda by Soriano’s detractors and critics.
