UNTV, Rotary Club of Kamuning and Ang Dating Daan Render Medical Mission for Bulakenyo
BULACAN, Philippines — Sa buwan pa lang ng Oktubre ay umabot na sa mahigit dalawang-libong katao ang napaglingkuran ng ginagawang medical mission ni Mr. Public Service Kuya Daniel Razon sa bayan ng Calumpit at Hagonoy sa lalawigan ng Bulacan.
Nitong Martes, muli na namang nadagdagan ang mga kababayan nating natulungan ng nasabing gawain sa isa na namang medical mission na isinagawa sa Barangay Corazon, Calumpit, Bulacan, kung saan umabot sa dalawang-libong katao ang nakatanggap ng libreng serbisyong medikal.
Ito ay sa pangunguna ng grupong Ang Dating Daan sa pangunguna ni Bro. Eli Soriano at ng UNTV sa pangunguna naman ni Mr. Public Service Kuya Daniel Razon, katuwang ang Rotary Club of Kamuning at Kamanggagawa Foundation.

A program that started as a 30-minute radio show in 1980, Ang Dating Daan’s humble beginnings was initially a three-man team with Bro. Eli Soriano as its host and two other staff concerned with production.

Ang Dating Daan Celebrates 31st Anniversary in Broadcast, Public Service
Ang Dating Daan (ADD), the multi-awarded religious program hosted by Bro Eli Soriano, is celebrating 31 years this October. Known for its vigorous evangelization works on radio and television since 1980, the show now reaches more than 30 countries globally.
Starting as a 30-minute radio program when it went on air in 1980, Ang Dating Daan went on air television in 1983. Since then, the program continued to attract more viewers and listeners, becoming a household name.
More opportunities opened for Ang Dating Daan when it reached western shores in 2004, paving the way for its launch of the Spanish and Portuguese titles, El Camino Antiguo and O Caminho Antigo. Now airing on free and cable television, especially in North and South America, these programs have a 24 hours and 7 days a week schedule. Fox Channel is the most recent addition to ADD’s official carriers.
The production staff was initially a three-man team of Bro. Eli Soriano, Bro. Daniel Razon, and Sis. Luz Cruz. Together, they pioneered the popular program, now known internationally as The Old Path. To date, ADD broadcasts in more than 30 countries in Asia, Europe, North America, Central America, and South America through satellite and the World Wide Web.
The program takes pride in its unique brand of question and answer segment, Itanong Mo Kay Soriano, Biblia Ang Sasagot. The question-and-answer portion has sustained the show’s popularity among the viewing public for years. Here, Bro. Eli Soriano answers every possible question on religion and faith. What is unique about the question and answer segment is that Bro Eli answers the questions from live audience whether in the studio or when there are Bible Expositions in various places.
Because of the program’s popularity, its approach in religious discussion and exposition of religious fraud, Ang Dating Daan also became the target of various hate campaigns on television, radio, broadsheets, and the Internet. Even as it continues to hail the flag in the West, censure also followed it.
It has survived not only vicious criticisms in the Philippines but also won against series of legal suits and political black propaganda which all have attempted to ban the program. Many times, Ang Dating Daan was caught in religious clashes with rivalling religious groups and targeted its cease in broadcast.
Although such efforts put a strain to the program’s survival, Ang Dating Daan continues to satisfy the religious interest of people. More to it is the support and warm welcome from those who admitted they “have grown tired of their former religions that had done nothing but to extort money from them.”
Over the years, the program has also grown to be identified in the public as promoter of social good through its charity projects and programs. It has forged numerous partnerships with government and non-government organizations upholding public service advocacies on health, education, social welfare, responsible journalism, and environment protection.
Among its programs for the marginalized sector are the free bus ride, free transient home, quarterly mass blood donations, free medical services, free legal services, feeding programs, free education, orphanages, and disaster-relief missions. It also initiated environmental awareness actions, like tree planting and clean-up drives.
The public services of Ang Dating Daan have inspired similar projects and campaigns. One such is the Isang Araw Lang (Just One Day) Campaign, a social good propaganda which upholds doing good even for just one day.
Due to its vigorous evangelization and public service programs, Ang Dating Daan has earned many citations for its contributions to spiritual and social welfare. One is the Gawad Amerika, when it named Ang Dating Daan as the Most Informative Religious Program in 2009. The following year, the Philippine National Red Cross acknowledged Ang Dating Daan as most outstanding partner for its continuous donations of safe blood.

International Thanksgiving celebration at the Members Church of God International
There are overwhelming reasons for the Members Church of God International (MCGI) to celebrate its Quarterly International Thanksgiving set on September 30 to October 2 this year. Also called the “Feast of God,” the event is MCGI’s most festive gathering held for three days every quarter.
Bro. Daniel Razon, vice presiding minister to MCGI, discussed a topic before the tens of thousands of congregants who attended the three-day International Thanksgiving.

TheOldPath.TV launches on August 11 a new webcast page using UStream.TV and Facebook interactive chat that will regularly stream the live broadcast of Bro. Eliseo Soriano’s Bible Exposition and to reach users of these popular social media platforms, respectively.

TheOldPath.TV, the award-winning video streaming website of the Members Church of God International (MCGI), initially features live and archived videos of the episodes of Ang Dating Daan (The Old Path), Biblically Speaking, Truth in Focus, and Itanong Mo kay Soriano (Ask Soriano). In recent years, however, the organization reinforced its live streaming capabilities through TheOldPath.TV, and opened several video channels on Youtube.com in hopes of reaching to a wider audience and using the interactivity features of the popular video sharing site.
Bible Exposition, a symposium-like live event, is one of the signature bible study activities hosted by Bro. Eli Soriano. As the resource person and speaker, Bro. Soriano answers questions from live audience from a venue. With the aid of technology and the Internet, Bible Expositions are simultaneously held live on a scheduled venue and across other nations through live streaming.
Bro. Eli Soriano is the award-winning host of one of the Philippines’ longest-running religious program, Ang Dating Daan. Last February 2009, his blog site was awarded the Most Popular Website of the Year by the Philippine Web Awards, which is an annual competition for website excellence organized by the Media G8Way Co.
Facebook, a social utility online to connect people from everywhere, is now the leading social networking website with more than 132.1 million unique visitors since April last year, according to comScore. Two-year old UStream.TV, on the other hand, a popular site for lifecasting and live streaming of events, said it now have more than 1 million registered users who generate 1.5 million hours of live streamed content per month with over 10 million unique hits per month, according to a Businesswire.com report.

During and just few minutes after Case Unclosed, a program hosted by Arnold Clavio, featured a documentary of the Ang Dating Daan group and the alleged rape charge against Bro. Eliseo Soriano, members and sympathizers of the congregation lead by the preacher are united in crying foul to the said report.
Several sympathizers blogged [1] [2] [3], tweet and posted immediately on Facebook, Scribd and Yahoo Buzz their comments and reactions to the malicious and obviously botched presentation by Clavio of the said case and how it presented on television the practices and history of the Ang Dating Daan group, which is officially registered as Members Church of God International (MCGI).
To the members of the Ang Dating Daan, the resource person interviewed in the program, Daniel Veridiano was the ex-communicated Puto who immediately joined the Iglesia ni Cristo when offered financial protections in exchange of insider information, even to the point of filing false and invented charges against the preacher.
Records showed that Veridiano admitted in a letter and video that he raped and committed lascivious acts against several young men (more than 14 teenage boys) and used Church funds for his personal effects. Videos of Veridiano admitting his sins are being shown on Bible Expositions hosted by Bro. Soriano when people ask about the said allegation to Bro. The clamor to mount massive boycott against GMA Network is also snowballing among members and sympathizers of the Ang Dating Daan and Bro. Eli Soriano.
Kotawinters wrote in her blog that:
“Mass messages had been going around the membership of the Ang Dating Daan (ADD), officially called Members Church of God International (MCGI) calling for the boycott of GMA, one of the greater TV stations in the country … the text suggested boycotting GMA and all its programs, with the information that the Presiding Minister, Bro. Eliseo Soriano is a topic in Case Unclosed, and the resource person is Daniel Veridiano, alias Puto, a former member of MCGI.”
Members and sympathizers of the Ang Dating Daan host is a force to reckon with. During the last elections, the party list group it supported immediately swept away with at least two seats. In Luzon region alone, more than 70,000 members attend its weekly Thanksgiving to God in Apalit, Pampanga. The Ang Dating Daan group, officially registered as Members Church of God International (MCGI), have more than 5,000 local chapters in the Philippines and more than 500 chapters in different parts of the globe. Every month, not less than 5,000 are baptized in the Ang Dating Daan Convention Center in Apalit, Pampanga alone. Figures from other regions and abroad are not yet consolidated here.
Another blogger, Points and Angles asked what makes a “leading media network”? In the words of this blogger:
What Case Unclosed displayed last night was something against a man presumed INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY, something against what the supreme law of the land wills. Anyone could invent something and make it a legal case against anyone else. Anyone could make a claim, but not all can prove it. So why sensationalize something unsure, and by a supposed journalist at that.
I wonder what Bro. Eli must feel like, suffering this from his fellow Filipinos, and in the month of June—the month supposedly when 7,107 islands were declared free to enjoy the liberties and rights every human person should.
Report such as this one by GMA Network is not new. It all boils down to the same campaign that the detractors of Bro. Eliseo Soriano are embarking on: destroy Bro. Eli’s reputation and credibility by inventing lies and charges against him. Why? Because he’s unstoppable and undeniable. He is the preacher whom from the very start speaks of the truth, whether you hate him or like him. For this preacher, he believe he will commit the unforgivable sin should he not preach the Truth and understanding he learned from the Bible. If he will not speak, who will?
